Welcome
to our Web Site! If you are here looking for information on an excellent
undergraduate or graduate business program, please let me tell you
a little bit about the Campbell School of Business.
The
liberal arts orientation of Berry College makes it a wonderful
place to study the art and the science of business. In today's
business
environment, being good enough is no guarantee of finding employment
or developing a career. With the rapid changes in business technology
and the consolidation of global economies, business people must
be able deal with change quickly and effectively. Business needs
people who can think analytically, creatively and practically
and
can work effectively in teams. Organizations hire graduates who
can solve problems, can communicate effectively
in both written
and oral formats, can be comfortable working in teams and leading
teams, are proficient in the use of information technologies, are
knowledgeable about the global environment in which they must function,
and understand the need to work with culturally diverse customers,
subordinates, peers, and managers. These are all goals of our programs
in the Campbell School.
At
the Campbell School of Business, it is our goal to graduate individuals
with the ability to live fulfilling professional and personal lives.
We want all of our graduates to be prepared for successful careers
in the globally competitive and technological environment of tomorrow.
We want to offer an education to each graduate that enables him
or her to make positive contributions to the broader society in
which they live. To accomplish this, we take a personal interest
in our students. The combination of small classes and an environment
of close significant contact with our faculty allow our students
unique opportunities for personal growth and development.
Our
dedicated faculty is committed to teaching first and foremost. We
do not use any teaching assistants here. Our faculty is also involved
with their disciplines through their research. Many of our students
work directly with faculty on their research projects.
The
Campbell School encourages students to take advantage of opportunities
for internships, and Cooperative Education which provide real-world
exposure that provide our students with relevant, practical experience
while earning credit toward their degree. Finally, we seek to maintain
a high-quality group of students in our programs. We seek students
who possess the following characteristics:
-
an eagerness to learn;
- the ability to think creatively;
- the ability to communicate;
- the ambition to succeed;
- and a commitment to life long learning.
The
Campbell School's Executive Advisory Council, a group of approximately
40 executives are involved in our curriculum and planning processes
to ensure that our programs will continue to meet the needs of employers.
If
you are a graduate of the business program at Berry, you are Campbell
School Alum. I welcome you to our web site and invite you to visit
us in Green Hall. Many things have changed in the last few years,
none more dramatically than our facilities. We are now housed in
a state-of-the-art facility with multi-media classrooms. I look
forward to working with the alumni, business community, and friends
of the College as we build on the successes and traditions of Berry
College to establish the Campbell School of Business as one of the
South's premier business schools. Your input is critical to the
success of this program, so I invite you to contact me with any
comments or suggestions.
